Introduction In these pages is a growing selection of photographs that I have taken over the years of a variety of birds. Most were photographed in a small suburban back garden in North West England, encouraged by bird feeders which have more recently been placed fairly close to the kitchen window. All of the pictures are thumbnails. If you click on one, the larger picture will open in a new browser window or tab. The majority were captured by digital camera and have been cropped to 640x480 or 800x600 pixels. Some of the earlier pictures were scanned from prints. I am progressively updating the pages, with occasional new or re-edited photos replacing some of the older pictures. I have taken more pictures of birds than any other animals. This is simply because they are the easiest animals to photograph. I don't claim any special knowledge about them, I simply enjoy photographing them, and seeing different species at the feeders has helped develop my interest in learning about them.
